PLAS-FIGHTER aims to combat antibiotic resistance by investigating how plasmids in bacteria affect their physiology and susceptibility to antibiotics. The project will utilize advanced screening techniques to identify new treatment targets and develop strategies informed by ecological and evolutionary principles.
The discovery of antibiotics revolutionised the fight against infectious diseases and paved the way for modern medicine.
