This research project investigates the role of music and sound in expressing dissent during Brexit in the UK. It analyzes how various music-related discourses reflect political sentiments and cultural identities, focusing on events like Glastonbury Festival and social media interactions.
In this research I explore sounds of dissent in Brexit-Britain in contexts of authoritarian populism and post-truth.
I look specifically into the liberal and conservative poles of British dissent vis-à-vis the UK’s decision in 2016 to withdraw from the European Union.
