The project investigates the origins and spread of ceramic technology among foragers in Patagonia, focusing on its use in processing aquatic resources. By employing advanced biomolecular analysis, it aims to understand the motivations behind the adoption of pottery in this unique environment over 2000 years.
Since its birth in East Asia during the Late Pleistocene, ceramic technology has become almost universal, allowing the exploitation of new environments and fostering different kinds of cultural expressions.
