This study investigates the metabolic syndrome in women throughout their reproductive life, focusing on lipid metabolism and its implications for pregnancy complications. It aims to identify risk factors associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes and long-term metabolic health.
Background:The metabolic syndrome is characterized by a group of metabolic risk factors such as obesity (mainly abdominal obesity), atherogenic dyslipidemia (high triglycerides, low HDL cholesterol), elevated blood pressure and dysglycemia.
