This project aims to enhance the use of enzymes as biocatalysts in organic synthesis by developing automated reaction cascades. It focuses on increasing structural complexity in synthetic pathways, enabling the creation of diverse chemical compounds with potential therapeutic applications.
Enzymes are now established as highly selective biocatalysts in organic synthesis with the range of catalysts and reactions rapidly increasing through access to large protein databases and high-throughput molecular biology tools for biocatalyst engineering.
