This project investigates the inflammatory response in chronic neurodegenerative diseases, focusing on microglial cell behavior and neural stem cell biology. Using a mouse model, it aims to understand the interplay between inflammation and neurodegeneration, potentially revealing new therapeutic targets.
An important aspect of chronic neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s or prion disease, is the generation of an innate inflammatory reaction within the central nervous system.
