This research aims to improve the predictability of extreme weather events by studying atmospheric wave dynamics. By analyzing Rossby wave propagation, the project seeks to enhance forecasting methods to mitigate the impacts of climate extremes on society.
Extreme weather events, such as heatwaves, droughts and flooding, have a devastating impact on humanity, causing increased mortality and suffering, as well as economic losses.
