This project focuses on addressing food allergies, particularly to fish, by developing advanced detection and monitoring methods. It combines proteomics and systems biology to enhance food safety and create new therapeutic options.
Food allergy is considered one of the major concerns in food safety.
The prevalence of this type of IgE-mediated allergy has been increasing during the last two decades (6-8% of children/2-4% of adults).
Fish is one of the most frequent causes of this type of allergy.
