This project focuses on creating synthetic cells, or protocells, that can mimic living tissues and interact with them. It aims to develop adaptive materials that respond to environmental stimuli and can promote cell growth and differentiation, advancing applications in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
The bottom-up construction of synthetic cells or protocells from inanimate molecules and materials is one of the grand challenges of our time.
