This project aims to develop sustainable alternatives to lithium-ion batteries using Prussian Blue Analogues for potassium-ion batteries. It focuses on improving the performance and understanding of these materials for large-scale energy storage applications.
There is an increasing demand for sustainable energy storage solutions to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions and the consumption of fossil fuels.
Among the technologies, it became evident that current lithium-ion batteries have several drawbacks such as their cost, availability and inadequate sources of lithium metal.
The main objective of this project is to develop an inexpensive, non-toxic, and abundant alternative to Li-ion batteries.
