This project aims to develop biotechnological systems for producing renewable energy and biodegradable materials by integrating enzyme-coding genes from various organisms into microbial hosts. It focuses on engineering strains of Pseudomonas putida for efficient production of biofuels and sustainable materials.
The widespread use of fossil based fuels and plastics is a major cause of environmental pollution, and their production depends on limited non-renewable oil resources.
