The PTAL project aims to create a spectral database to analyze mineral alteration on planetary bodies, particularly Mars. By studying terrestrial analogues under controlled conditions, it seeks to improve our understanding of habitability and environmental evolution on Mars.
A new and exciting era of planetary space exploration started in 2000 with a plethora of in-situ and orbital missions in operation at terrestrial planets and small Solar System bodies.
