This study explores the role of human capital in the industrialization of Western Europe by developing a new method to quantify historical human capital through occupational titles. The approach utilizes a classification system to analyze the evolution of skills in the labor force over time.
Most economic growth theorists see human capital input as a key factor in long-term economic development.
