This project explores the initial conditions of the universe through quantum cosmology, applying new mathematical methods to rigorously define gravitational path integrals. It aims to provide insights into quantum transitions between contracting and expanding universes, enhancing our understanding of the big bang.
Ultimately, every question in cosmology leads back to the question of initial conditions.
Classical physics, even in the context of an inflationary phase, cannot address this question – this is the domain of quantum cosmology.
