This project aims to improve the testing of materials used in components exposed to harsh conditions. It focuses on developing a setup that simultaneously tests thermal, mechanical, and chemical effects to better predict material failure.
Nowadays, in-service damages such as impacts during overhaul or external influences, such as exposure to severe environments with chemical agents, thermal loadings or ultraviolet light have to be taken into account for the design of the elements.
