This research focuses on the role of protein fatty-acylation in immune response, particularly how S-palmitoylation affects the function of proteins involved in pathogen clearance. It aims to develop methods to quantify these modifications in immune cells.
Protein fatty-acylations (N-myristoylation, S-palmitoylation and Lys-fatty acylation) are important lipid-modifications that regulate the trafficking and function of membrane-associated proteins in eukaryotes.
