This project aims to develop techniques and tools to demonstrate practical quantum advantage without relying on theoretical assumptions. It focuses on applying quantum computing methods to real-world problems in machine learning and cryptography.
In this project I will develop techniques and tools to demonstrate unconditional and practical quantum advantage.
The quantum speedups that have been developed so far are mostly based on certain assumptions from complexity theory, or they are established relative to imaginary back boxes, called oracles, that are assumed to perform certain tasks and implement certain operations on input data. I will design problems that can demonstrate quantum advantage without such assumptions.
