The R-NOZZLE project aims to develop a cost-effective method for producing 360-degree components for aircraft engines using near-net-shape rolling and machining. It focuses on the design and manufacturing of exhaust nozzles from advanced alloys.
The Project R-NOZZLE is aimed to find out a way to produce 360º components for aircraft engines by combination of near-net-shape rolled ring process, plus machining.
In particular the design and manufacturing of rotating exhaust nozzle of the CROR is targeted.
The materials to be used for this development will be Inconel718 and Titanium Alloy.
Thus the project will look for a cost effective way of producing conical cylindrical components of about 1 m. diameter in these alloys.
