This project focuses on improving lead-free perovskite solar cells by investigating the interfaces between perovskites and charge extraction layers. It aims to understand and reduce energy losses due to defects, ultimately enhancing the efficiency and commercial viability of non-toxic solar cell technology.
Lead (Pb) based perovskite solar cells (PSCs) demonstrate a remarkable power conversion efficiency (PCE of 25.2%).
Their toxicity, however, raises environmental concerns and might hinder their commercial deployment.
Quest for non-toxic PSCs is still at its infancy:
