The project aims to train researchers to understand historical adaptations of indigenous peoples in East Africa to environmental changes. It combines various disciplines to promote sustainable resource management and policy-making based on local knowledge.
The strong temporal dynamics of the East African landscape and natural-resource distributions have always encouraged people to innovate and adapt to changing conditions.
