This project aims to systematically investigate the visual word form area in the brain, which is crucial for recognizing written words. By combining functional and structural imaging techniques, it seeks to clarify the brain's processing of visual patterns and establish a model for understanding reading behaviors.
The ventral occipito-temporal (vOT) association cortex contributes significantly to recognize different types of visual patterns.
