This project explores the role of T cells in brain injury recovery, focusing on their effects on inflammation and neural repair. By understanding T cell behavior and gut microbiota interactions, the research aims to develop new therapeutic strategies for enhancing recovery from brain injuries.
The overall goal of this project is to investigate T cells as “Trojan horses” to improve recovery from brain injuries – we will gain novel insights on how T cells promote neurologic recovery by modulating the cerebral micromilieu and how these pathomechanisms can be therapeutically targeted.
