The project 'Redefining the Agency' explores the relationship between theatre and society in post-1989 Czech Republic and East Germany. It examines how theatre's role transformed during significant social and political changes, employing interdisciplinary methods to analyze discourse and performance.
"Redefining the Agency:
Post-1989 Crises of Czech and Former East German Theatre"" will introduce an innovative historiographical and theoretical approach to examining the inter-relation between theatre and the society.
The process of the redefinition of theatre’s function during transformations of social and political discourses will be investigated within a case study which will give the first comparison of Czech and the former East German theatre after 1989.
