ReefCoRe examines how the spatial arrangement of species traits in tropical ecosystems influences their resilience to disturbances. By analyzing functional diversity, the project aims to improve understanding of ecosystem stability and inform conservation strategies for vulnerable habitats like coral reefs.
Thought to possess a greater trait redundancy across species, more biodiverse systems are considered better able to maintain their stability following disturbances.
