This project aims to develop a global renewable energy model that integrates energy system and land-use data to understand the spatial dynamics of renewable energy sources. It addresses how trade flows and local land-use restrictions influence the transition to low-carbon energy systems.
Recent global integrated modelling studies indicate low intensities in trade of energy commodities between global regions in a future low-carbon global energy system.
