This project explores the regulation of lipid antigen presentation by microsomal triglyceride transfer protein in Natural Killer T cells. It aims to understand the interplay between metabolism and immune function in liver diseases.
Natural Killer T (NKT) cells are unconventional T cells which recognize lipid antigens presented by the atypical MHC class I molecule CD1d.
While NKT cells are abundant in the human and murine liver and play important roles in liver diseases such as autoimmune hepatitis and primary biliary cirrhosis, little is know about their regulation.
