This project studies the impact of climate change on fish egg and larval survival in the Northwestern Mediterranean Sea. It focuses on the role of oceanic eddies in providing protection and nutrients to early fish life stages, using advanced observational tools and climate projections.
In the Northwestern Mediterranean Sea (NWMED), anticyclonic eddies (clockwise spinning flows) increase fishes’ eggs and larvae (ichthyoplankton, IP) survival rate by providing protection and nutrients.
