REM sleep behavior disorders (RBD) are violent dream-enactments caused by loss of normal muscle atonia during REM sleep. RBD are idiopathic or associated with neurological diseases (parkinsonism, narcolepsy) and represents an exceptional window on dream content and motor control during REM sleep.
