REPLAY aims to reduce postharvest losses in food products by developing innovative management tools. The project focuses on improving food quality assessment and processing technologies to enhance the profitability and sustainability of harvested food.
Main postharvest losses are caused by physiological, pathological and physical damage; being these causes in many instances interrelated.
Harvested products are highly heterogeneous and conventional postharvest approaches are not sufficient for an optimum profitability of these foodstuffs.
