RITE addresses Internet latency issues affecting real-time applications by researching methods to reduce delays without compromising throughput. The project aims to enhance user experience across various applications, including financial services and online gaming.
The present Internet limits the performance of applications that need real-time interaction.
In part this is because the design of the network has been optimised to boost throughput, maximising efficiency for bulk applications.
