This project investigates the role of small non-coding regulatory RNAs in the bacterial pathogen Listeria monocytogenes, focusing on their impact on virulence and interaction with metabolites. It aims to develop RNA interference systems and identify new antibacterial agents through biochemical and genetic analyses.
All kingdoms possess a large fraction of RNA-based regulation.
We identified several small non-coding regulatory RNAs (ncRNAs) in the human bacterial pathogen Listeria monocytogenes that controlled virulence by a direct RNA:RNA interaction.
