This project investigates the role of G-quadruplex structures in RNA, focusing on their functional contributions to translation and telomere biology. By identifying these structures within cellular RNA on a genome-wide scale, it aims to enhance our understanding of their biological significance.
For over a decade, our research programme has focused on the chemical biology of nucleic acids.
The structure of nucleic acids is key to their biological functions, and the four-stranded guanine rich class of structures called G-quadruplexes constitute a particularly intriguing motif.
