This project aims to develop new metal-based compounds for targeted cancer therapy that become toxic only upon light activation. By using light-sensitive bonds to deliver these compounds to cancer cells, the research seeks to minimize side effects associated with traditional chemotherapy.
Chemotherapy is, after surgery, the second most efficient therapy against cancer.
However, it has many side effects for cancer patients because anticancer drugs kill cancer cells but also healthy ones.
