The SAFE-H2 project focuses on understanding the combustion behavior of hydrogen in air to enhance safety in its use. By combining theoretical studies, high-precision experiments, and simulations, it aims to develop reliable models for predicting hydrogen flame dynamics and mitigate combustion hazards.
Hydrogen is a powerful energy vector but its deployment at the scale considered today by governments and companies cannot be achieved if safety associated to combustion hazards is not mastered and regulated.
Hydrogen leaks occur and lead to fires and explosions which must be prevented.
