SECRETE-HF investigates the systemic effects of heart failure on other health conditions, particularly cancer and organ diseases. By analyzing secreted factors from failing hearts, the project aims to enhance understanding of the connections between heart failure and multimorbidity, ultimately improving patient care.
The objective of SECRETE-HF is to demonstrate the effects of secreted factors from failing hearts to explain the etiology of multimorbidity in heart failure (HF).
The project focuses on two co-morbid patterns: 1) the emerging susceptibility of HF patients for incident cancer, 2) the more established co-morbid conditions of renal, liver and pulmonary disease in HF.
