The SegrEd project investigates the distribution and social backgrounds of teachers in schools across Finland, France, and Sweden. It aims to understand how teacher segregation affects educational inequalities and proposes a new framework for analyzing these issues in education markets.
There is concern on the European level about the diminishing attractiveness of teaching as a profession, as well as about the shortage of qualified staff in schools and the increasing turnover of teachers in segregated education markets.
