SIGMA aims to enhance agricultural monitoring by integrating satellite and ground data to assess the long-term environmental impacts of crop production. The project focuses on sustainable land management practices to improve agricultural productivity while safeguarding ecosystems and natural resources.
By 2050, global agricultural productivity will need to increase with at least 70%.
In order to guarantee food production for future generations, agricultural production will need to be based on sustainable land management practises.
