This project aims to create a new class of environmentally friendly silicon-based catalysts for organic reactions. The focus is on enhancing the efficiency and selectivity of chemical synthesis processes while minimizing the use of harmful substances.
Lewis acids-promoted reactions of organic compounds have been extensively studied in recent years.
Many region-, diastereo-and enantioselective reactions catalyzed by a wide variety of Lewis acids have been reported.
Still they often have major drawbacks when applied to large scale synthesis: (1) use of toxic metal-derived catalysts, (2) low turn-over, (3) formation of large amounts of salts, (4) low chemoselectivity when applied to polyfunctional reactants, (5) extensive use of control elements…
