This project explores the properties of strongly correlated quantum systems using ultracold atoms to simulate complex quantum phenomena. It aims to develop new theoretical approaches to understand high-temperature superconductivity and the fundamental nature of quantum matter.
Strongly correlated quantum systems have some of the most exotic physical properties in nature, but detailed theoretical understanding is lacking.
These systems are not only of immense fundamental interest: they also have practical applications, e.g. in the case of high-temperature superconductors.
