This project aims to develop new mathematical techniques to understand the formation of singularities in General Relativity, specifically in black holes and during the Big Bang. Researchers will explore various scenarios and test existing conjectures using advanced methods from analysis and geometry.
One of the outstanding open mathematical problems in General Relativity is to understand how singularities form in solutions to the Einstein equations.
