This project focuses on understanding how molecular structures can function like electronic components, such as transistors and switches. By studying the conductance of single molecules and their interactions with electrodes, the aim is to develop advanced electronic devices at the molecular level.
By exploiting the internal degrees of freedom of molecules the idea underlying the present proposal is to project electronic function resembling transistors, diodes, switches, or memory onto a single molecule prepared by chemical synthesis.
