This project focuses on developing a new heat storage technology for industrial applications, specifically targeting the food and drink sector. It aims to efficiently store solar heat and heat recovered from processes, ensuring availability when needed, using novel materials and a thermochemical process.
Heating and cooling account for 49% of world energy demand, this requires significant fuel sources to satisfy demand and attention has now become focussed on renewable sources such as wind, wave and solar.
