This project aims to develop a theoretical framework for understanding the spillover of pathogens from wildlife to humans, using data from California sea lions and Channel Island foxes. It combines insights from various fields to model spillover risks.
Spillover, or cross-species transmission, of pathogens from wildlife to humans is the major cause of emerging infectious diseases such as HIV, Ebola virus or SARS.
