This project investigates the coexistence of superconductivity and ferromagnetism in hybrid structures, aiming to create a new type of superconducting state with triplet electron pairs. The research focuses on enhancing spintronics technology by developing materials that can carry both charge and spin information.
For a long time, the coexistence of conventional superconductivity and ferromagnetism was believed to be impossible.
Cooper pairs in normal superconductors are formed by two electrons with antiparallel spins in a singlet configuration while ferromagnets favour parallel alignment of electron spins.
