This project aims to improve the production efficiency of pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals by developing a novel reactor type that optimizes chemical reactions. The technology seeks to reduce production costs and environmental impact by minimizing waste and reaction times.
Cost and resource effectiveness of pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals production rely largely on the level of process control.
However, the chemical industry is currently not able to grasp full control over the chemical reactions in these segments where batch reactors dominate, resulting in high production costs and a serious environmental burden due to the use of excessive amounts of raw material and significant downstream waste streams.
