SPLICER aims to improve climate models' accuracy in predicting extreme rainfall in Europe. By analyzing rainfall drivers across different scales, it seeks to enhance understanding and communication of local rainfall extremes to stakeholders.
Understanding the impact of climate change on extreme rainfall is vital for informed mitigation and adaptation plans.
However, climate models struggle to produce realistic rainfall. SPLICER will provide unique insight into the origin of European rainfall errors in climate models and help improve future projections of extreme rainfall.
