This project explores the origin of life by monitoring self-replicating molecules in real-time using a novel optical device. It aims to study these processes within cell-like compartments, contributing to the understanding of life's fundamental mechanisms.
Unravelling the origin of life and achieving the de-novo synthesis of life are among the grand challenges in contemporary science.
Self-replicating molecules play a central role in addressing these challenges.
