This research investigates the seismic behavior of masonry domes to enhance the preservation of cultural heritage. It aims to develop guidelines for assessing structural safety and minimizing unnecessary retrofitting, ensuring both conservation and safety.
Vaulted structures hold enormous cultural, historical, and artistic value as they constitute one of the main structural elements characterising monumental masonry architecture.
Among them, the dome is undoubtedly the most emblematic and prominent one.
