This project aims to recover the lost acoustic heritage of ancient theatres by reconstructing their sound environments. It combines fields like archaeomusicology and digital technology to analyze and recreate the acoustics of historical performance spaces.
Through this project I aim to assess and recover the lost intangible heritage of cultic theatre acoustics through the acoustic reconstruction of spaces of the past.
The acoustics of linear and non-circular theatra in the Greek world have never before been analysed in terms of how and why these spaces were chosen for performance.
