This project aims to advance optical microscopy techniques by implementing single molecule detection for high-resolution imaging of biological samples. The focus is on enhancing imaging capabilities and reducing acquisition time to study protein interactions.
The objective of the present integration proposal is to establish PI’s career potential via the transfer of a state-of-the-art optical microscopy technique called localisation based single molecule detection, at the host institute.
This method can enhance the spatial resolution of traditional optical microscopes by an order of magnitude, and can image samples with structures of sub-10 nm.
